A Birthday in Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara is a perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Whether you like to do some window shopping and bar hopping on state street, lounge by the beach, take a boat ride, or hike in the mountains, you’ll have a great time.
Living like a local
Our Air Bnb near State Street

Our Air bnb was only a few blocks the main strip with all the shopping and bars. It was a tiny bungalo of sorts. We rented it for it’s prime location, not necessarily its amenities. It took a few minutes to find, as it is hidden in the back of a complex. When we got inside, we were delighted with the boho charm. The living room was minimal, but perfectly put together with indian accents. The kitchen was tiny, and not really meant for cooking everyday meals in.

State Street
Window shopping, eating and drinking

Downtown Santa Barbara oozes Spanish influence and charm. Smooth white buildings with rounded archways and red tile roofs line State street on every block. Spanish tile and palmtrees.

Hiking in Santa Barbara

Hiking the misty Santa Barbara mountains is a refreshing change of pace from the bars and shops down on State street. The soundtrack of the rain drops softly thumping on the earth, kept us at peace as we trek up the mountain. The higher we climb, the more fog drifts around us, obscuring the destination.

This still remains to be one of my favorite photos we’ve taken together on a hike. It captures the joy and togetherness we felt on the mountain. I surprised myself that day when I didn’t let the rain take away from the day.
