St. Louis in Photos
It’s fall in 2013 and Jeremy and I need a break from the everyday life in Chicago. We decide to pack up the car for a weekend getaway to St. Louis.
Our friend from college recommended the Moonrise hotel in a fun hipster district called the Delmar Loop. From the outside, it doesn’t appear to be very special, but upon walking inside our eyes lit up seeing the pink and purple glowing staircase in the lobby. Moonrise Hotel decorates their spaces nicely. I loved the fun moon art and accents all over the lobby and in our spacious room.
The moon motif can be seen throughout the lobby. What I love most is the different styles of moon art.
The pink and purple glowing stairs in the lobby really makes a statement
I couldn’t help myself.
Playing around with our bathroom door
The beds were big and comfy
Another fun moon art in our room.
The hotel bar also lights up!
A funky mirror in the hallway.
Hanging around the Delmar Loop
The Delmar Loop, also home to the Moonrise Hotel, is a hub of bars, restaurants, and shopping.
The St. Louis Mission Street Taco Joint is inspired by San Francisco’s Mission district Mexican food.
It holds a nostalgic place in our hearts as we miss San Francisco. The tortillas are made from scratch and the taco flavors are delicious.
Due to the government shutdown, the St. Louis Arch was closed. Instead, we walked around the downtown area, exploring the sculpture garden, and found our way to the St. Louis City Museum.
The City Museum, the highlight of our trip, is an urban playground for kids and adults.
A special moment we cherish was getting caught in a downpour trying to take a photo in Forest Park.
