Catching the perfect light at Old Man Storr, on Isle of Skye, Scotland.

We woke on our second morning in Portree, Scotland ready to explore the nearby areas. Isle of Skye was famous for stunning landscapes and according to our borrowed tourist map, the top destination was a tall rock formation called “Old man Storr” only 15 minutes from our stay..

On the way, we stopped down the road from the parking lot and pulled over to take advantage of the light and snap a few photos.

I watched the light ripple over the landscape, highlighting the stark contrast between the greenery and the jagged slate rock walls

The climb was deceptively high and frustratingly steep. The trail began as grass, then turned to mud, then to loose gravel. My shoes lacked the traction needed to continue climbing as I slid backward. I sat down and waited for Jeremy to keep climbing. Once he was satisfied, we hiked around Old man Storr and ended up in a valley.
